Getting here By car... From Albi, take the D999 towards Millau and follow signs for Ambialet. By train... The closest train station is Albi Ville. By plane... The closest airport is Toulouse-Blagnac. In the event of overflow, there is a hotel-restaurant in the village that can accommodate guests as well as many private gîtes or cottages in the area that can be rented by the week or month.

Distractions nearbyHiking, biking, kayaking, and even horseback riding are all easily done from Le Prieuré. There are plenty of beautiful walking trails to choose from to get the full 360 degree view of the valley. One can swim in the Tarn River that surrounds the monastery or climb up to the 12th century castle ruins to discover the area's Cathar history.
The village of Ambialet has a café, two restaurants and a recently opened shop... There is a market on Thursday mornings in July and August. A walking path connects Le Prieuré on top of the hill with the village down below in just 15 minutes. Old men play pétanque in the park, the mayor's wife will serve you a drink on the terrace of the café and fishermen dot the bridge daily hoping to catch some catfish. You'll quickly fall in love with Ambialet's rural charm! Excursions further afield can be easily arranged to nearby castles, vineyards, villages and towns.
